16 September 2021The BIHL Trust and MoBE signed a Memorandum of Understanding for three (3)years to cultivate critical thinking, and English writing skills amongst Primary School children across BotswanaThe BIHL Trust continues to dedicate itself towards delivering positive socio-economic progress in Education, being one of the Trust’s core focus areasThe MOU aims to deliver a new program rolled out in partnership with MoBE, being: a National Essay Writing Competition and a National Maths and Science Fair.GABORONE - The dedicated CSI and community arm of the Botswana Insurance Holdings Limited (BIHL) Group, the BIHL Trust, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Basic Education (MoBE) on the 9th September 2021. The MoU covers a period of three (3)years, and stems from a mutual desire by both organisations to drive further positive and sustainable impact amongst Botswana’s Primary Schools students through championing critical thinking, comprehension, English writing skills..The Ministry of Basic Education, Deputy Permanent Secretary, Mr Simon Coles said that the Ministry is hopeful to see fruits of this partnership when learners write their final examinations essay composition and hope to see more creative writing coming from learners. “I am pleased to note that the essay focuses at Primary, which is a foundation level and hence the starting point for General Education. It is therefore important to start at the grassroots and lay the right foundation,” said Mr Coles..The BIHL Trust National Essay Writing Competition seeks to engage Standard 6 and Standard 7 students primarily, inspiring their growth and education as they prepare for Senior School.by providing 3 topic options for students to choose from and prizes will be awarded at Regional and National stages. The Essay competition is engineered to ensure maximum participation, healthy competition, and a fervent desire to help students do their best and shine as they work to grow and develop through their education journeys..“The BIHL Trust is wholly passionate about investing in the youth of today towards a better tomorrow.
