8th April 2022FRANCISTOWN - Stanbic Bank Botswana and the City of Francistown Council (COFC) today inked a contract that sees the Bank as the official payments administrator for Ipelegeng Scheme beneficiaries across 25 wards in the city, through Unayo. The Bank was officially awarded the mandate after rigorous assessment of applicants in a closed tender process. The agreement will see payment to approximately 2,337 recipients on a monthly basis on behalf of the Council. The ceremony was attended by COFC Town Clerk, Lopang Pule, and (COFC)Deputy Town Clerk – Technical Services, Lawrence Mokotedi; and Stanbic Bank Acting Chief Executive, Christopher Gwere.Said Christopher Gwere, Acting Chief Executive of Stanbic Bank Botswana. “It is a privilege and an honour to visit the City of Francistown, and to enter into this partnership with the Francistown City Council. This comprises in excess of 100 touchpoints through which Ipelegeng workers can receive their payments every month..Said Francistown Town Clerk, Lopang Pule, “This is a large and important mandate we trust Stanbic Bank will treat with the utmost importance. With in excess of 2,300 Ipelegeng workers in Francistown, this means over 2,300 individuals who in turn have dependents relying on their incomes to be paid in a timeous manner.
