This is a digital pitch competition and joint venture between Ngwana Africa and Botswana Innovation Hub.The webinar will take place from 09h30 to 16h30 and will see a number of youth businesses duel it out in a day long webinar that seeks to source innovative solutions for the City of Francistown. The purpose of this noble initiative is to attract innovators from the city of Francistown and surrounding areas to submit cutting edge solutions that will enhance the quality of life for the residents of Francistown.Speaking at the virtual event, Stanbic Bank Botswana Chief Executive, Sam Minta said, “Stanbic Bank Botswana strongly believes that our youth are our future, and we must invest in and work with them to create an ecosystem that moves youth unemployment to a single digital number. This benefits all in the long term, and only sustainable, collaborative, and co-created platforms will make a true impact. This initiative is yet another demonstration of our commitment to driving Botswana’s growth and empowering our youth to turn their dreams into reality.”Stanbic Bank Botswana prides itself in the Bank’s continued efforts to help the youth of Botswana turn their dreams into reality and build their legacies. Connecting the City Challenge is organised by Ngwana Enterprises and co-hosted with the support of the Botswana Innovation Hub and the City of Francistown Ecosystem in an effort to drive intelligent data led solutions. Some of the notable speakers who joined Mr. Minta at the virtual pitch competition were, Mr. Goitsemang Majaha, Director of Francistown College of Programming as well as Mr. Bertil Van Vugt, Business Development Lead at VC4A.“Youth businesses are a big part of job creation and solving the youth employability and entrepreneurship agenda. Thus, our support of this initiative speaks directly to our dedication towards helping ensure future youth employment.
