GABORONE – As a signatory of the Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI), Kgori Capital has received a stellar scorecard from the annual PRI Assessment Report. The strong scorecard is a testament to best practice and high standards in the Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG) space by Kgori Capital, particularly in the areas of Strategy and Governance, Listed Equity and Fixed Income, in which Kgori Capital excelled and received A grades.

The PRI is a United Nations initiative that works to promote the incorporation of ESG into investment decision-making. The PRI assessment of signatories is based on six key principles. These principles were developed by an international group of institutional investors inspired by the critical role and increasing relevance of Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance issues to investment practices. The key principles are;

· Incorporating ESG issues into investment analysis and decision-making processes.

· Being active owners and incorporate ESG issues into ownership policies and practices.

· Seek appropriate disclosure on ESG issues by the entities in which we invest.

· Promoting acceptance and implementation of the principles within the investment industry.

· Working together to enhance effectiveness in implementing the principles.

· Each reporting on activities and progress towards implementing the principles

The PRI Assessment Report aims to facilitate learning and development by outlining how the implementation of responsible investment within signatories compares year-on-year, across asset classes, and with peers at the local and global level. It also seeks to identify areas for further improvement and strengthen the dialogue between asset owners and investment managers on responsible investment activities and capabilities.

Said Alphonse Ndzinge, Managing Director of Kgori Capital: “At Kgori Capital, we believe in the integration of ESG factors in our daily operations. In this regard, we are honoured to receive such recognition and indeed reaffirmation from UNPRI, further validating the efforts we drive as part of our own internal measures. We cannot overemphasise the critical role that responsible investing plays in our business, and we believe that incorporating them affords us the opportunity to deliver long term investment performance for our clients. We remain dedicated to ensuring that we invest with PRIDE on behalf of our clients and continue to prioritise responsible investing, in line with the integrated Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) framework.”

Kgori Capital has been a signatory of the UNPRI since 2012.
