GABORONE - Absa Bank Botswana is committed to empowering and unlocking its employees’ potential by offering skills development to help them reach their career goals. As part of building long lasting succession pipelines and leadership competencies aligned with the Absa leadership philosophies for young talent in the bank, and getting ready for a digital banking future, the Retail Banking function has launched its first Retail Banking Academy.

Absa Botswana Retail Banking Academy has partnered with renowned business school, Duke Corporate Education (CE) and will focus on growing future-focused capabilities to drive growth, change and improved business performance. The programme will embark on facilitated sessions designed to enable participants and the Bank’s team to elicit alignment to the Absa leadership credo and values.

. “It is essential to equip our teams with the full range of skills, knowledge and attitudes being sought after by the bank and that they need to meet the ever-evolving needs of the corporate world. As Absa Bank Botswana, we have prioritised education and skills development, and we are partnering with leading specialists to empower young talent with tools they need to keep up to date with latest human resource trends,” said Valeta Mthimkhulu, Retail Director, Absa Bank Botswana.

. The Programme’s goal is to ensure that employees are equipped with adaptable, future skills to collaborate and work across functions as well as develop a future fit leadership mindset. The programme is scheduled to run for a 15-month period and will have the teams engaged in various training modules aimed to assist them to develop their leadership skills.
